Choose your base style - Control or Attack. Please note the play style differences between the bases are nuanced, if you are a new player you will not perceive much difference between the base types. Technical information on the bases:
CONTROL: 2.5g weight with figure. They keep the ball a little closer on contact. Excellent chip shots when skill mastered.
ATTACK: 3.1g weight with figure. They push the ball forward a little more. Easy to chip the ball, but typically a line drive type chip shot. The pitch plays best when laid down on a surface. I recommend MDF 3/4 inch thickness. Have an 8ft x 4ft MDF Board cut at your local hardware store to 59 x 41 inches. I use a light application of wallpaper paste to lay the pitch down. It is also possible to use thumb tacks around the perimeter.

FISTF (International governing body) and FISCT (Italian Federation) approved for competitive play.
 
For best play we recommend fixing your pitch to a board - MDF 3/4" 59 X 41 dimensions. Use a light application of wallpaper paste on the board and roll out and smooth the pitch as you go.
